Research Interests: Michael Kunichika's research interests include Russian modernism, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between painting and literature;
Russian cinema and visual culture; literary theory, rhetoric, and Russian archaeology.
Fellowships/Honors: He has published an article "Landscape and Vision at the White Sea-Baltic Canal" in Picturing Russia: Essays in Visual Culture (Yale UP). He is currently at work on a book examining the creation of an indigenous antiquity during the Russian modernist period.
